What’s New?
WoW wOw WoW!!!
It has definitely been a while…but all for good reason! I promise!
Where to begin…..?
The last few months have been a rollercoaster of emotions, to say the least. So, in order to condense a significantly long list of stories and thoughts on that, I will just say…a few chapters of life are closed, a few chapters of life are beginning, and I am trying to figure out how to comfortably make my life a little more ME.
I always try to use the phrase "closing a chapter in life" but it never feels right. I feel like that means something is totally done or something is supposed to be completely in the past, but really I don't know that we have "chapters". I almost just feel like each of us, somehow, have a big timeline (maybe it looks like the colorful Sacred Timeline on Loki). Maybe the different branches are life events (instead of different branches of the multiverse). And instead of a "chapter of our life closing", the branches just become less prominent, and grow a little slower as we move forward. Not sure if you were able to follow that train of thought, but either way, it makes sense to me!
The Wave of Light was especially difficult this year, but it was probably just from the circumstances. Or maybe it is difficult every year, and I just don't realize it until we are in October again (a very likely possibility). I do want to say, THANK YOU, to those of you who joined us in saying "Hello" to our little Franklin. It is always really special to know that he is still thought of and celebrated on a day of remembrance.
And now here we are in November…
Who is ready for the holiday season? Well, if you aren't, too bad! And you better get to it unless you have become Dr. Strange or have somehow unlocked an ability to manipulate time. I know that we are looking forward to Thanksgiving this year as we are hosting, and we are planning to have a full house, including a visitor from overseas that we have been anticipating meeting for a while. Yayyyy!!
Just want to put out a reminder to take care of yourself and others among all of these activities. Unfortunately, grief is all over the place during the holiday months, and it isn't ONLY associated with losing someone you know.
Grief can be losing an anticipated relationship with someone, before it even started. Or losing a relationship with someone who you love. It can be losing something that you were hoping for the future. It can be the death of a person you have seen in the news, or feeling emotions for their family or loved ones. Lots of different stuff!
So while we all love to celebrate, decorate and, at the same time, stress out about all of the hectic activities, make some time for yourself and to check on the ones you love. And maybe…just maybe…that practice will be something that we all do more often throughout the year.
